REMEDYNE ANNOUNCES JOINT RESEARCH and DEVELOPMENT VENTURE WITH MERIAL
5 November, 2001 --- Santa Barbara, California; London, United Kingdom- Remedyne, a US vaccine biotechnology company, announced today that it has signed a collaborative research and development agreement with Merial Limited, the world's leading animal health company. Under the agreement, Remedyne and Merial will jointly develop medicines to enhance the health and well being of animals based on Remedyne's DNA Adenine Methylase (DAM) technology. Merial will retain rights to animal health applications, and Remedyne will retain rights for human health applications of the technology.
Utilizing its DAM Antimicrobial Technology, Remedyne is focused on the development of a new generation of vaccines based on DNA Adenine Methylase technology for the treatment of some of the world's most costly human diseases such as cancer, ear, and urinary tract infections.
